Ingredients

For the Strawberries:
- 1 pound fresh strawberries (about 12-15 large berries), with stems attached
- 8 ounces white chocolate chips or white chocolate bars, chopped
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother coating)
For Decoration (Optional):
- 2 ounces dark or milk chocolate, melted (for drizzling)
- Crushed nuts (pistachios, almonds, or pecans)
- Colorful sprinkles
- Freeze-dried raspberry powder
- Shredded coconut
Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries
Wash the strawberries gently under cold water and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Make sure they are completely dry, as any moisture will prevent the chocolate from adhering properly. Leave the stems on for easy dipping.

Step 2: Line Your Workspace
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This will prevent the chocolate-covered strawberries from sticking once they set.

Step 3: Melt the White Chocolate
Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth (about 1-2 minutes total). Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop. If desired, stir in coconut oil for a thinner, smoother consistency.

Step 4: Dip the Strawberries
Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted white chocolate, tilting the bowl as needed to coat about three-quarters of the berry. Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl by gently shaking the strawberry.

Step 5: Add Decorations (Optional)
If using toppings, sprinkle them over the wet chocolate immediately before it sets. For drizzle designs, wait until the white chocolate coating has set (about 15 minutes), then drizzle with melted dark or milk chocolate using a fork or piping bag.

Step 6: Set the Strawberries
Place each dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. Allow them to set at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed up the process.

Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
Once the chocolate has hardened completely, your white chocolate covered strawberries are ready to serve! Arrange them on a pretty plate or in decorative boxes for gifting.
Notes
- Dry Strawberries Are Essential: Even a small amount of moisture will prevent chocolate from sticking and can cause it to seize. Pat strawberries thoroughly dry before dipping.
- Don’t Overheat White Chocolate: White chocolate burns more easily than dark chocolate. Use low power and stir frequently when melting.
- Best Quality Chocolate: Use real white chocolate (containing cocoa butter), not white candy melts, for the best flavor and texture.
- Room Temperature Works Best: Let strawberries come to room temperature before dipping for better chocolate adhesion.
- Storage: Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 days. Bring to room temperature 10 minutes before serving.
- Not Freezer-Friendly: Do not freeze as strawberries become mushy when thawed and chocolate may crack.
- Make-Ahead: Best enjoyed within 24 hours for optimal freshness and texture.
- Coconut Oil Substitute: Can use vegetable shortening or omit entirely if you prefer thicker coating.
